TIP 1 – DON’T STRESS

Seriously, don’t worry! 2020 has been a very crazy time for all of us. We’re all wearing multiple hats and working around our kitchen tables. Give yourself some credit – you made it this far! The holidays may look a little different this year and might include a few extra video calls to friends and family, but you’ve got this. Let the little things go and focus on your bigger priorities. This is the season of celebration and you deserve to enjoy it.

TIP 2 – PREP AND PLAN

It never hurts to be a little over-prepared. Whether that’s planning dinner menus or getting all your holiday shopping done, now’s the time to start getting your list together. Planning ahead will help you stay organized and get everything done before the holidays. Make a list and stick it on the fridge to act as a visual reminder of the tasks you have left to accomplish.

TIP 3 – STAY SUPPORTED

No matter where you go or what you’re doing this holiday season, remember to stay in touch with your support system. Call your friends, write your parents a holiday card, have a video call with your cousins. Remember that you have people who support you and that you may also be someone’s support system. Check in, call, email, send a text – stay connected. It’s also important to remember to wear supportive shoes and slippers around the house. TIP 4 – MINDFULNESS MATTERS

Make and take time for yourself. Although spending time with family and friends is essential, it’s also important to set aside some time to yourself. Take 5 minutes to relax, take a deep breath and just be still. Try practicing deep breathing exercises when you feel stressed out.
